I have used BCAA for decades to renew my auto insurance and usually find it to be a great experience. However this last time the agent I worked with for my phone appointment was pretty incompetent. Firstly, she did not ensure my address was correct. I had changed my address in the ICBC system several months ago and even received a new sticker for my DL. Waited on hold for 5+ mins hoping for answers to my questions. The person I spoke with clearly did not know anything about International Drivers Permits.. within the 5+ mins of waiting I was able to find enough information on Google to help myself… so I gave up waiting and ended the call. However, I definitely travelled to my destination with nerves about my car rental. Why offer services if the employees cannot answer simple questions?
I have just been refused house insurance by BCAA because my daughter, who lives in Nova Scotia, is to be on title together with me for succession purposes. My daughter is a Canadian Citizen and retired Police Officer, and BCAA doesn't like that she lives in a different province.
