Why do the hydro companies in Nelson nail new home owners and tenants with extreme deposits based on previous owners and tenants power consumption? If they grew weed or mined crypto why does a new family or seniors have to pay $1500 + as a deposit? Especially if they already have a proven track record with their power bills at another location? Seems rather tyrannical on what's essentially a essential service in today's age
