I called 911 for a driver who was completely passed and then incoherent when woken up who had crashed into a curb in the middle of the road. The paramedics showed up, did not call dispatch, watched the driver wake up and try to drive further into the curb. They then moved their vehicles (out of fear of him reversing into their ambualnce) from behind his car, asked him if he was ok to drive and let him go. I cannot explain to you how obviously this man was intoxicated.
A paramedic did an emergency assessment while I was in intense agony and vomiting I was to stubborn to go to the hospital as she strongly recommend and I can honestly say without any doubt I will never question a paramedic when they strongly recommend that you get to the hospital, she was absolutely amazing at her job!
I fell and broke my hip in the early evening of June 11th (2025). The pain was excruciating; my partner called 911. The ambulance crew, Keagan, Max and Gabe arrived a bit late because they were driving from Penticton and apologized for taking so long to get to Summerland.
