My 80 yr old mother has been in the ED since 6:30pm yesterday- was told at 1pm today getting a room its now 6:45pm no room - have barely seen anyone - when she has seen the nurse twice- they were rude and not helpful at all. Dr put in food order for her at 12:47pm - was never offered anything, not even water. I finally went and got her stuff at the gift shop bc I didn't want to miss anything from the nurses. I am a cancer patient of the D'Amour Cancer Center. Have a green card from the Dr. stating that I am to be handled in a certain way. Went to Baystate ER for bulge in stomach causing pain. Thought to be a hernia. Never got seen, was told multiple hours. I left and waited for my primary care visit later that week. Still setting here with the pain and bulge in my stomach waiting for a call from a general surgeon to make a evaluation appointment. This is not care and the ER needs to change. Came last night with my 79 Year old husband because he can’t put any weight on his foot. There is bruising and he’s on a blood thinner. They did an xray within the first hour and now we are STILL waiting for him to be seen- almost 12 hours later. So poor.
