It's a great group if you're new the city or maybe in transition. I joined some years ago when almost all my friends were pregnant and I had no one to do anything with. I met a lot of great friends who I'm still in contact with to this day. You don't have to be a massive outdoors person to enjoy the activities either. Check out one of their public events - they're free and fun.

I have been involved with Bayou City Outdoors for 7 years. In that time I have learned to mountain bike, rock climb, kayak and white water kayak, road bike and trail run. I have made many, many friends. Friends that are the kind of friends I could call on for anything, anytime. It has been life changing and the best group I have ever become a part of!

Not as good as other reviewers – I've tried to attend several functions and I've found the group to be fairly exclusive. No one came up and really spoke to me, no one asked to get together for another event, it was akward and uncomfortable for me. I've been paying each month for about the last 10. I'm sending a note today to cancel. Even if I was to stay involved, it's not worth the 21.60 - I'm not sure where that money goes - all the events are manned by volunteers and you have to pay for everything yourself.

Bayou City Outdoors IS THE BEST! – I'm from Houston, and joined Bayou City Outdoors when I was just getting out of a relationship five years ago. Not only did I find some of my best friends through the group, but I got outdoors and was doing the things that I loved and having fun! I was tubing, camping, mountain biking, hiking, socializing, running, and so much more! There's always something on the calendar, and it's a great group of people! I HIGHLY recommend that you try it out!!

Best way to get your foot out the door in Houston – BCO has been a terrific experience for me and has become a key part of my lifestyle. With a loaded and eclectic events calendar I am never without awesome things to do with great people. My social circle has grown 10 fold and I have had the opportunity to try countless new activities, some of which have become regular hobbies. TV sucks. Join BCO and go do something today. There's probably a cool event happening right near you.

Repeat billing after membership cancelled – I signed up for the pay for one month get one month free. I specifically stated I did not want the automatic monthly renewal and explicitly and repeatedly directed that my membership be cancelled after the first payment. I was charged for the second month. After calling to get the charge credited I was assured I would not be charged again. The following month I was charged again. I called again and my concern was clearly not of concern to them.
