Bayou Barbell has such a great vibe! Vinny especially is awesome—he’s super friendly, always helpful, and goes out of his way to make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable. It’s the kind of gym where you actually want to show up because the energy is good and you’re never made to feel out of place. Big shoutout to Vinny for being such a solid part of the experience!!
I've been to plenty of gyms in and out of the parish and even out of state and Bayou Barbell is, without any doubt, the best gym I've been to. It is the pinnacle of what a gym should be. In one corner, you have a plethora of dumbbells that go past 120 lbs. There are plenty of benches and other stations, so that means you won't be waiting to get your workout in. That entire staff is TOP TIER!!! Ever since I've joined that gym in January 2025 the community there is Phenomenal! its such a vibe with everyone there as well. It's deff a vibe of people that encourage you to perform at your best no matter what! The Owner always strive for better equipment 24/7 and get the best for everyone and it shows! This gym is hands down the best gym I have ever been to. Not the best gym in Chalmette, the best gym EVER -- and I have lived in 6 different states. From the workout to the people, you can't go wrong. They have endless machines and are literally getting new ones weekly. They also have boxing, spin classes, and occasionally yoga.
