This is the worst place we have stayed in Australia. Run down- bathroom is so in need of renovation. Room11 so noisy from the bars at the back. There was a vacant room which was quieter available BUT because we booked through Booking.com they were reluctant to move us. We booked this room months ago. Would not recommend this motel to any one. We have travelled in Aussie for the last month and stayed in amazing places- BuT not this one. LOVE BYRON BAY BUT DO NOT STAY AT BYRON MOTEL

If you want to try the "Homeless experience" this is the place you were looking for.. The feeling is like sleeping directly on the street. No acoustic isolation at all, and that will be ok in a country area, but here friends you have a disco at 10m, bin trucks every two hours and of course drunk people giving their best! We booked 2 nights and left after the first one. I would have avoided this commentary if the greedy manager accepted my request for the second night refund, didn't happened.. We stayed peak season last minute booking. The location makes this stay well worth it. Off street secure parking, saves you plenty now BB is metered parking. Rooms were neat and tidy, although had to request towel change, as well new (not half empty) shower gel. Would definitely recommend and stay again. So since we last stated here at Bay Motel another Bar called No Name Bay Lane has opened up right at the back of Bay Motel. Very noisy and is open until midnight. Nice rooms and the hotel was in a great location but the noise late at night from a bar/night club was too much and made our stay in enjoyable. Don't stay here if you value peace and quiet at night.
