See and experience the exhibits This was one of the highlights of my trip to L.A. My son had the museum recommended by a friend and on my last visit to to him in California (and always looking for unusual attractions) we went. So glad we did.! Like nothing we had EVER experienced before. I feel like this kind of place is definitely worth seeking out. Mind expanding. An atmosphere between a funhouse and a dream sequence...with a common link of humanity and the quest for knowledge.

A Musuem About Museums The Jurassic Museum offers eccentric exhibits that speak to the nature of the human desire to collect and catalogue objects of the world. I particularly like the dioramas of trailers and mobile homes that are inspired by the idea of Noah's Ark. Come to the museum with an open mind and leave any expectations you usually have for other museums at the door. This place is an LA treasure.

It's Like Being in a TOOL Video... I visited this museum on a whim with a friend who had heard it was funny and weird. Weird would be an understatement when describing this place. There were exhibits involving trailer parks, psychiatry, good luck charms, and insects...all displayed in a manner I can only describe as "freakishly fantastic". This probably isn't the place to bring your out of town friends on their first visit, but on their third or fourth time out, when you've exhausted all of the typical LA tourist options, gi... read more

A Totally Delightful Mind Trip Wow, this museum is like no other. Walking in from the strange little doorway on Venice Boulevard is like going from the black and white, everyday world of Kansas into the full-color Land of Oz--only you've ended up on the absurd dark side. It is a total mind trip of exhibits that treat the bizarre with such utter respect that you'll lose yourself in the hilarious absurdity. The more you try to understand what you are seeing, the more confused you'll be. The beauty is, that's the point!!! The b... read more

A one of a kind museum This place is so unique words don't really do it justice. The concept of museum is played with here and the whole space is a kind of huge art project. The exhibits are delightful and unusual really unlike anything else. The space is not that large bbut there is a lot to see and take in so budget a few hours to make sure you get to see everything. I can't really recommend this high enough it is a real treat to have such a space in Los Angeles.

Believe it Or Not... I love this museum! It's the opposite of anything else you'll find out there! This museum is not caught up in the mainstream art sponserships, overpriced giftshops, pristine atmosphere attitude of many other museums. As soon as you walk up to the front door, you ring a doorbell and are buzzed into the establishment. You're not sure if you're walking into private pawn shop or an eccletic antique dealer. As soon as you step in, you're greeted by a volunteer host and invited to sign the guest list. Donation... read more

It is very difficult to describe the Museum of Jurassic Technology and that is why it is worth going to. It is a museum that houses both odd accomlishments like paintings on grains of rice, natural oddities like a "human horn", as well as pseudoscience fare like the chronicles of an expedition to capture an invisible bat (note that some of these are rotating exhibits so they may not be there when you visit). The museum is just off kilter enough to make you think as well as make you smile at its absurd displays.

Its really hard to explain what the museum is all about, except to say that it is definitely offbeat and interesting. Exhibits range from what may be best described as tableaus of old wives tales to dioramic demonstrations of technology and its evolution. Limited hours, so check in advance. Definitely worth a visit!

The weirdest museum I've ever been to. It defines "eclectic". I can't stop thinking about it. It must be experienced to be believed. Everyone should go at least once.
