Drinks were bad, I didn't like my Old Fashion and my wife prosecco tasted bad. Her pork chop and my mahi we're both overcooked and dry.
First time in New Bern and am thankful we found Baxter's. Moody, speakeasy vibe, excellent craft cocktails, and food with flavor and flair. Loved everything about this restaurant!
Just left a few minutes ago. The food was great and the bartender was Awesome! Not too busy at 6:30 for a Thursday night. Asked to sit at a few tables but were told they were reserved. We suggest not to sit at the table across from the kitchen. The hostess kindly asked the manager to move us , however sitting across from the kitchen while trying to enjoy the live music wasn’t the best spot at all. Prepare to step back into a 1920s jazz club. The atmosphere is really unique with live jazz musicians in the evening. Ask to see the hidden speakeasy upstairs. The menu is short but tasteful. Food was good. Only complaint: portions were a little small.
