Nice place to stop and skim some stones (which is what some local teenagers were doing, with impressive skill) or have a picnic at the table in the very small clearing (which is what some overnight hikers were doing) or stretch your legs and take a break from cycling (which is what we were doing) on a sunny winter afternoon.

I suggest sitting on the rocks around the causeway rather than on the bench. It's a delightful stop on a hike being able to sit right next to the creek.
Battery Causeway lies at the crossing of pipeline trail and Heathcote Creek and serves as a reference point on local hiking maps as its where Bullawarring Track reaches Pipeline Track. Nice place for a picknick, too as its really tranquil and has nice views up and down the creek.
