RecommendedAfter having the same vet for 35 years, it was very hard to change. I tried just about all the vets in Athens and still couldn’t find one I I liked as well as my old one. My daughter told me about Dr. Bates. After one visit with Dr. Bates and his staff, I felt “at home”! I love a common sense approach and he has it. I knew I had chosen correctly when he bowed his head in prayer before euthanizing our precious Cairn Terrier.
Down to earth, not pushy, really listens... everything you want in a vet!
We love love love Dr. Bates and his staff! Everyone is kind, courteous, attentive, and treats you like family, along with your four legged kiddos! Our animals are blessed to be in their care!! The Page Family can't thank them enough! ❤

Dr Bates and staff care for my Maltese and Maltipoo, Percy and Otis. Each time I go, I feel I have had the best treatment possible by everyone! We haven’t experienced any major health issues since moving to Athens in June, but they did have their teeth cleaned today.Evelyn kept me updated during the day and went over every detail at check out. We love Dr. Bates, he goes above and beyond for our dogs. I recommend him to everyone looking for a vet! He loves animals so much & it clearly shows with how thorough he is. We drive a hour to take our dogs to him & won't take them to anyone else. I put my full trust in him, as well as his staff, who are also SO sweet and caring!
What a great down to earth place for pets and their owners! BAH was highly recommended by a friend. I’m grateful for the recommendation! My dog had a big growth on his head and bates had me send pictures and squeezed him in for a quick local anesthetic surgery the very next day!!!!
