We had a bad experience with two previous processors. One was a nationwide low-cost processor who you could never speak to anybody directly and as a small business, they didn't ever want to explain something or steer you in the right direction, etc. The other was through our state Retailer's Association; they actually submitted what they thought was a violation to VISA so they could arbitrarily fine us, rather than say "hey, what's this?" Even though customer service is very good, it does not make up for the extremely high rates and cost of doing business with this company. I would not recommend it for a small business, it's suitable for the larger business.The rates that they advertise are not the rates that they will use. They say a low point something,but it ends being more like 5 to 10 percent.CAVEAT EMPTOR.

We are very sorry for your experience. You are correct that if you only run 1 or 2 transactions a month for smaller amounts, we are not the best fit. We absolutely use the rates that we advertise, but it really important for the merchant / business owner to swipe or dip card when they have a terminal with a card reader. That was the cause for your higher rate. If you are taking cards over the phone or email, you need a different type of terminal to keep your rates low.
