Young vet refused to repair a cherry eye on one of my puppies....says it is an alteration (not a repair, as I believe) and she will not do the surgery! She even whipped out the AKC ruling on this and read it to me! Is she now an AKC Representative as well as a young arrogant vet? She will allow my sweet 7 month old cocker puppy suffer because I won't sign something that says I will NOT show the best puppy in my current show litter?! They explained everything before doing anything and were very warm and loving with my puppy.
Bastrop Veterinary Hospital has been my "go to" for our furbabies since we adopted them two years ago. The clinic is very clean with a comfortable waiting area. We love our Vet, Dr. Alyzabeth Schwettman. She is friendly and very thorough with examinations. She is a good listener and takes the time to talk about any concerns we may have. The techs and front desk have improved tremendously since we began visiting. Highly recommended
I do not because I came across a suffering animal on the side of the road that had been hit by a car but was still very much alive and the dog looked to be having seizures. I pulled out my phone and just picked what thought was the best place to go. When called, this office the dog was turned away because they needed a claim of ownership for BILLING purposes. Full love for animals? I dont think so.

Dr. Weiss has been my veterinarian for about 15 years! He knows all my animals and treats them with the utmost kindness and professionalism. I wouldn’t ever want to have to change vets! The other veterinarians there are just as awesome.
We recently had to put our sweet K9 down and the weekend staff were very accommodating and empathetic. Thank you Bastrop Vet Hospital, you made a really hard time just a little less hard. 💙🐕
