This town is interesting and cute. We drove around and saw many interesting things. The historic area has many restaurants and bars.
We played tourist in Bastrop last week and found it to be quite a nice place. It is definitely a good place to go if you are a water person, since it has a beautiful lake and river. The downtown area is nice with shops, businesses and restaurants. It's not a big downtown so it doesn't take long to peruse. We also went to Smithville which is not too far from Bastrop. It was smaller but had some nice antique stores. The drive is nice and both can be experienced easily in a day.
