Mt. Greylock is beautiful and well worth a visit, but the people who run Bascom Lodge are incredibly rude with some serious anger management issues and huge amounts of aggressiveness. If you aren’t paying to stay there or renting out their event space, good luck so much as walking through the public spaces and taking some photos, especially if you’re doing so for an occasion like prom or a wedding. I stayed a Bascom Lodge in a bunk the night before a hike up Greylock. I really enjoyed my experience. The lodge was well run with tasty food, engaging events, and beautiful nature/history. Monique was particularly inviting and accommodating. The one suggestion I would have is to add a fan to the bunk room to help with white noise for sleeping!
