My mom was supposed to move in September 11th this year. We put down a deposit for her room $1900, which they had painted for her, but it was determined by her hospice nurse she was too sick to move to out of Great Lakes Rehab into Barton Woods. She passed on the 13th. After multiple conversations with Kelsey asking for at least a portion of our deposit back. I was always told she’d talk to Rebecca and get back with me. This never happened. DO NOT PRE PAY FOR CARE- no matter what discount you are promised! My grandmother prepaid for a year and was there for a month. Rebecca had promised that in prepaying for care, you would have a substantial discount and would lock in the rate to prevent rate increases. Their contract states that in the event of a death you would receive a full refund 30 days after the 30 days following a death. It's taken me a long time to write this review. First I didn't want to jeopardize my getting my mom's money after we paid a years stay up front just to save a little money. My mom was all about saving money. Sadly she passed awayed shortly after residing at Barton Woods. Trying to get back money that was rightfully owed to our family took almost 18 months, court judgement, and lawyer fees.
