Our business was immediately sent a cancellation letter after filing a basement flood claim (which we had coverage for), due to a large rain and sump pump failure. The claim wasn't even finalized yet. They are refusing to cover any damaged equipment - water heater, softener or any part of the 2 HVAC units, which are now inoperable. I have to pay a separate HVAC technician now to come inspect everything and send a report to Barton to prove the water caused the issues. Total Joke. We just moved, had a policy done by them. They sent an inspector out when we did the policy and had what we thought was coverage for all our buildings. There is plenty of coverage for the damage done by a windstorm, but somebody didn't designate the building that was damaged spefically as a hay barn even though it had hay in it. Had they simply notated it right on my policy it would have been covered. No one made this clear and in the fine print it looked to be covered. So now we get to pay out of pocket to r... read more
