Dr Barry Hyman in himself is not a bad doctor. Keeping appointments however that seems to be impossible for him. If your appointment is at 3:15 you may not get taken until 5:15 5:30. As a form of patient of his I recommend seeing somebody else who has a little bit more ethics. I waited in his office today January 19th for an hour and 15 minutes and didn't even get called I canceled my appointment because I felt it was rude and considerate and obnoxious that he can't take his patients at his scheduled time. HORRIBLE DOCTOR!! If you are a patient seeking care or a student looking to shadow DON’T go to this doctor! He’s incredibly arrogant and will completely dismiss any questions or concerns you have about your own health. He babbles and stutters the entire appointment and ultimately just talks in circles. I’ve seen him 3 times and each appointment I had to wait 2+ hours to be seen. Very positive experience. Dr. Hyman observed the condition of my knee and went over potential causes and their remedies. I didn't have to wait for the minor procedure we agreed on and he even gave me a cookie at the end because I'm basically a 4yr old trapped in a 50yr old body evidently with 75yr old knees. I dont often leave reviews but his professionalism, knowledge and patience with me had to be shared.
I would strongly suggest avoiding Dr. Hyman if you intend to have an opinion about your own health. He is curt, arrogant, and dismissive of anything even slightly opposed to his own view. Beyond that, his office is impossible to reach on the phone and everything is routed through a call center in India. I've seen a lot of specialists and this has been by far the most frustrating experience of all.
