The bagels are soft and chewy. Authentic bagels are more dense with a hard crunchy, crispy outer crust. Authentic bagels are hard the next day. That is there one downside. Barry bagels don't get hard as quickly and that's good but they're not authentic. It's a trade off.
What i asked for: poppyseed bagel, cream cheese, tomato. What I got: cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese, tomato and lox 🤦♀️ i ate it anyway (takeout) it was bad.
Cannot go wrong with a bagel and Barry's are top notch. The service is good although the process is slow - this is not fast food! It is made to order and with care food. The atmosphere is as with any diner - much depends on the other diners but it is clean, comfortable and stylish and, although I don't go too often, I am never disappointed when I do go!
