This spot clearly has a lot of history and you can feel it right when you walk inside. The latkes are not bad, hearty and satisfying, but the bagels are very soggy and not that great. The biggest letdown, though, is the service, which is notoriously unfriendly, and makes the whole experience feel unwelcoming. Overall, this place is okay for a one time visit just because of the rich history, but I will definitely not return.
Staff all don white coats while serving delicious deli favorites. A New York staple that keeps it as real as it gets. Fresh fish and deli meats served at a cash only establishment. It gives that NYC nostalgic feel fans crave when trekking from borough to borough. The bagel with lox is outstanding and the staff will refill your coffee as frequently as the 1 Train passes through the city. Limited hours at this landmark so wake up early and enjoy some authentic breakfast in the city that never sleeps.
Wouldn’t change a thing. Had a pastrami omelette with bagel on the side. And the family had a whole lot more. Thank you to the waiter who was frank and opinionated which I like — of course I want to know the best of the best on the menu! Loved it.
