A Book store where you can spend the day! By far the best book store I have ever gone to. They are conveniently located in Hawthorne Mall. They have three floors to browse and read in. They really are the quintessential book store. There is a Starbucks conveniently located inside the store. Their children's dept is huge and children friendly. What a great place to shop! I really love coming to the Barnes & Noble with my son because it is so nice and inviting. We always head straight to the children's section and he plays with the trains while I look at the large selection of kid's books they have. Every time we come there they have new books on sale at really great prices! Their children's section is amazing and really nice to come and enjoy the day there.
Friendly Staff Barnes & Noble always has very helpful employees. Each time I am in search for a book that is not available, the employees have been more than willing to help me track it down. There is also a cafe in the back where you can study and read. Barnes and Nobles members get discounts on books and drinks. You can sign up anytime for a small fee. PROS: Cafe CONS:
As of now they haven’t pulled a how to book to prevent homosexuality in children. That’s very harmful and pseudoscience. You need to do the right thing Barnes and noble
Very disappointed by the new Vernon Hills location. The new store feels very cold and sterile...seems like being in a Target. Gone is the warmth and coziness that the old location had regardless of crowds.Also appears to have less inventory. Bookstores fill a void Anazon cant....the need to browse, touch and escape. I guess I will learn how to browse on Amazon.

Great place to relax
The company did a great job with hosts my story time event. The staff was amazing to work with. I can't wait to go back and have another event hosted. As a new author they made me feel right at home.
