I stopped at this restaurant at random and it was the best dining experience of my trip. The host was charming, the team was warm and authentic, the food was creative and delicious, and the restaurant and inn were absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for an elevated dining experience with Michelin quality food that isn’t stuffy (we rolled in after a 10 mile hike and open air ferry ride), Barncastle will blow you away.
Food is exceptional!
Our room was dirty. Furniture and drapes were in poor condition and the bed and pillows were old and uncomfortable. No outlets next to the bed. Windows were inoperable to air out the room and there were many dead flies trapped between a plastic insulation screen. The exterior was just as poor with paint peeling off the windows and sidings.
Me and my partner have been enjoying the Italian pop up menu. Great food. It’s pricey but worth it. The drink menu is a tad bit overpriced ($20 Negroni is a bit too much) but besides that, I would proclaim this the best restaurant in town
