Restaurant The Barn has been a Baraboo landmark forever. And, yes, it is really a former barn with the milking parlor turned into the kitchen. They're re-opened and as good as ever.
Awful Disclaimer: We arrived at 6:30pm on a sunday. Perhaps the staff was just overworked and overwhelmed. Waitress: Short on patience (we required only a little, for we had a long day too!) and transparently grumpy. Which is fair, BUT we waited 85 minutes for the food... Which is fair (for they were busy), BUT the food was horrible and Beat the forgotten appetizers. We ordered medium rare to medium well burgers and they came out about as dry as they could be without being considered burnt. The buns were even... painful to b... read more
depends on the staff The quality depends on luck. One cook can cook the other cant, we have got raw fish, bloody medium well prime rib. One waitress is rude. The owner is nice but im sure no one tells her the truth about the place. They have items on the menu like bluegill that you can only get in the summer, if it isnt a friday sat dont expect them to have prime rib either or answer the phone if you want to call first. i gave up on the place. Most of my co workers did a long time ago.
Consistently good food We have eaten at the Barn several times in the past year and have found the quality of food to be consistently good. I usually get the Bluegill and haven't had a problem getting it except for the dead of winter (January & February).
