I went out to Barky Pines to adopt some chickens. That statement *Adopt Don't Shop* is always in the back of my head. BP is a little tricky to get to but, well worth the effort. They have pens of various poultry, and dogs, and some farm animals. It reminds me of a petting zoo except way more ethical. I got 4 baby chickens there for a donation. The people there are very kind and wonderful to work with. They also have an animal clinic where you can get exams and surgeries at prices far below any of the other animal hospitals. ... read more

I had a wonderful experience at Barky Pines Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. Kate was an absolute gem, she handled everything from booking to the end. My kitten and dog were vaccinated and neutered, and Kate made sure everything was handled properly , made it smooth, and stress-free, they got them in and out with great care. Kate was kind, patient, and very informative, and even checked on them later that night, which meant so much.
