I adopted my sweet girl and in the beginning, she was going through some separation anxiety - scratching the paint off the front door, chewing the corner and the leg of the couch, etc. I called Bark Busters and Dan was able to fit me in that week for an evaluation! Dan has been great to work with and has made a huge difference for us with our dog. The barking at the table has stopped. The pulling on the leash has stopped. We've worked with Dan three times so far since February 2026, and we're very happy with the progress. We have a 75-pound energetic male Golden Retriever with challenging door behavior, leash reactivity, and poor recall. Dan has given us clear tools, straightforward directions, and training methods we can actually use consistently. We cannot sing Dan Lan Franco and Bark Busters Walnut Creek's praises any louder. Our dog is like a new dog. Literally -- he changed our dog and our relationship with her in the first 30 minutes of our session. We learned immediately how to communicate with her in a way she understood. No treats needed, no punishment. Just learning how to speak "dog".

We cannot recommend Dan highly enough! We were struggling with a wide range of issues with our two very different dogs—a Red Heeler and a Chihuahua.
