At some point you'll have to cut your losses. These guys can't troubleshoot and will throw parts at your boat blindly at your expense by the thousands each time stating "we will fix it next time". Take your boat to a reputable shop to begin with. You'll be better off. A good mechanic is worth their weight in gold, this one is made of manure.
This guy is a complete rip off. Be very careful. I had him do some work for me and $1400 later my motor still had the same problem it had when I called him. First he tells me its one thing and I paid $700 for the repair. That didn't fixed it so he came back out and another $700 later still didn't fix the alarm that was sounding on my motor. He told me he went over my motor with a fine tooth comb and couldn't find anything wrong and that he would call Mercury and get back to me about it.
