Barefoot Hills was originally opened in 2004 as a hostel for Appalachian Trail hikers. The property was acquired by Barefoot Luxury in early 2017, and underwent extensive upgrade and renovation over that summer. The property reopened as Barefoot Hills in August 2017.

We enjoyed Barefoot Hills for our 3-night stay in the Dahlonega area. It’s a great place to end a day of hiking or dining in town or at one of many wineries. It was quiet and comfortable. We recommend it.
It is my 3rd visit and this cute lodge doesn't fail to impress me. We plan to rent a few rooms in the winter when we have more family in town for a get together! It has become a family favorite since we fount it!
We had a great experience staying in the Sunrise Eco Cabin. It was clean, quiet and incredibly comfortable for a short weekend visit in Dahlonega. It had everything we needed for a great price! We would definitely stay again.
