I moved out of Barden Ridge Apartments in Roxboro, NC on May 30, 2025. My security deposit was $1,139, and the management charged me $500 for repairs, leaving a balance of $639 due back to me. North Carolina law requires landlords to return deposits (minus deductions) within 30 days. Been here 3 months and the ac/heat has not worked since we moved in..iv sent multiple emails made phone calls and still havnt seen anyone about the issue and the company refuses to even contact me

They are listed as income based or low income apartments on a lot of sites and at social services. When I asked the property manager if they were they said they were not and were a flat based rent with 2.5 times the income. Those looking for apartments under 1,000 need to look elsewhere.

If you have a criminal record, even if something is 7 years old, be careful applying to this place. Last time my wife and I applied for an apartment was 3 years ago, also denied. I figured after some more time showing that I have changed my ways, maybe applying for an apartment would be different this time. It wasn't. I was not even given a phone call or an email asking to offer an explanation explaining things that I have done to be a better person. I used to be a bad alcoholic. Great Location, a mile or so from Walmart and downtown stores. Average rent prices for the area. Includes laundry facilities and clubhouse/office and playground. There even used to be a workout room years ago. The library is within walking distance too. The location is the ultimate value Overall it is Quiet neighborhood with great location and decent storage space. Clean apartments and quiet and friendly neighbors make it worth it.
