I would not recommend Dr. Wexelman. I found her bedside manner to be lacking, and at times the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. She appeared frustrated when I mentioned that I had obtained a breast screening ultrasound through HerScan and questioned my decision in a way that felt dismissive rather than informative. During the visit, she asked about my profession, and I shared that I am a nurse practitioner. If I could give a negative zero I would. If you are wanting an uncaring, indifferent, non compassionate breast surgeon then she is the one for you. If you are wanting to be falsely accused of being on drugs and tested without your consent or knowledge right before a lumpectomy, she's your best bet. If you want to be embarrassed and shamed then pick Barbara but I strongly suggest you do your research and go with someone else.
I would give Dr. Wexelman more than ten (10) stars if it was possible. She is simply extraordinary and I would highly recommend her to anyone going through breast cancer. She was thoughtful and knowledgeable answering all my questions thoroughly throughout all phases of my journey from diagnosis to post-surgery recovery.
