I am very picky, particularly when it comes to Italian food in the States. More often than not it's lackluster and there is no bigger sin than overcooked pasta. Bar Roma was an exceptional surprise. My husband and I shared several appetizers, an entree and a dessert - everything was fantastic! The best Italian food I've had in a very long time, and definitely the best in Chicago! My partner and I decided to stop by for an early dinner. We knew the mains were pricey so we decided to order drinks and appetizers from the Happy Hour menu. We were quite disappointed by the quality which was just mediocre. We got the breaded shrimp which were nice, and the marinated olives which were described on the menu as including "bruschetta" but were delivered alone without any bread.
