I want to start by saying I'm sure my case is an outlier. My partner and I came here because all of our friends told us how amazing their food is. We came here once before for cocktails and did not enjoy them. No problem. That happens sometimes. Today we went in for food. My partner, who was wearing short sleeves and visibly rubbing his arms from the cold, asks the hostess "can you sit us somewhere warm?" Where does she sit us? We’re visiting from another state and the food in Chicago has, thus far, let me down but I HAVE to rave about Bar Roma. We didn’t go in with high expectations from the other restaurants in the city. The waiter? Amazing, The food? Somehow even better than the waiter. If you want something that tastes like real REAL Italian. Bar Roma, bar none!

One of my favorite local Italian restaurants. Bring back the cauliflower fritters during happy hour.
