Delicious Moroccan dinner prepared by Chef Radouane at this cozy upstairs space in the East Village. I can highly recommend everything we had: mixed appetizers with hummus, Labne, and spinach; a spectacular falafel salad; and a chicken tagine and a mixed grill platter. Anna, our waitress, was a perfect server.
We went to Barfes for the first time and initially felt a little unsure. The restaurant is located above a mezcal bar, and the drink menu comes from the bar downstairs while the food menu is Moroccan, which felt a bit unexpected at first. But we decided to go along with it and order anyway—and we’re so glad we did.
