Sat in the emergency waiting room for 9+ hours with stabbing pain in my abdomen. When asked if they had an estimate on when they would take me back or if there were any changes in the wait, nobody had any answers. Got there at 9pm and was still waiting by the time the nurses came for shift change. Terrible!
Got to the Baptist ER (downtown) at 6:00 p.m. Had blood work done at about 10:30 p.m. It is now past 1:00 a.m. and I have not yet been seen by a doctor. They just let you rot in the waiting room for an eternity. Worst decision of my life to come here. I wish I had read these reviews beforehand. This is inhumane! Notice how they respond with the same generic cookie-cutter response for every review on here. Pathetic customer care! Stay away from this place if you have an emergency. You may die waiting!!
If you're having an actual emergency, you should try to get to any other facility. They will do the least and you'll feel worse than when you arrived. The few good nurses don't make up for the rest.
I went to this ER twice in the past 6 days - the first on Sunday (three days ago) and yesterday. I have had worsening pain increasing in severity for the past 6 days. I won’t go into my symptoms but what I can say is that they’ve been debilitating and bad enough to warrant me going to an ER, which is not something I enjoy doing. The first visit was fine, but the second was exceptionally horrific and I plan to take this up the chain. If I could rate this place -9000, I would. I left in worse condition than I arrived after spending over 5 hours in their ER. Prior to arriving, I spent 11 to 12 hours on the hospital floor of the emergency room at St. Vincent’s. I came to Baptist because they have an MRI machine and the doctor recommended, No, she ordered an MRI for me. The nurse who took my vitals was amazing, every other nurse I encountered on my team dropped the ball more than once.
