First off I would like to say that Dr. Davila and the therapists downstairs are wonderful and caring. They do their best to make sure the pts are able to do as much as possible before they go home. On the floor is much different. Very little PT/OT/ST is continued on the floor by staff. They don’t assist with bathing or dental hygiene. My father went at least 4 days with no bath or brushing his teeth. There was a snow storm, I was unable to be there. Call lights are answered but nobody comes. My dad had a stroke and was sent to Baptist for rehab. He barely had any speech therapy, which out of everything, he needed that the most. His OT and PT just “went through the motions” with him. They did the bare minimum, which is disappointing. They also did not inform us until we were leaving that we could have negotiated with our insurance company to allow him additional time in rehab.
