What a disappointment. I don't mind waiting for food, and I did—even though there was only one other occupied table. Unfortunately, the wait wasn't rewarded. The French fries arrived only lukewarm, with cold centers, and several of the garlic chicken nuggets contained little or no chicken—just greasy fried batter. The staff was polite and attentive, but the kitchen clearly wasn't. The food felt carelessly prepared, especially considering that two appetizers cost more than $30. We have had many wonderful meals at Banyans. We were surprised to make and confirm a reservation for tonight (3/21) only to learn when we arrived that the restaurant is closed. We are hosting family on the last night of their visit and were unable to find a table at a similar restaurant on such short notice. I don't know how much will change after the temporary closures (and I hope very little does change!) but there was an opportunity to communicate better tonight.

My husband and I went for Valentine’s Day and found it was a fixed menu. From appetizer to entree we waited over 65 minutes. It was not very busy, and there were only 3 entree options, so this wait made no sense. One appetizer was listed as “beef tataki,” but when the waitress gave it to us she said it was VENISON tataki? We determined it was most likely beef. They also ran out of one of the (3) dessert options within the time we were eating, or waiting to eat, rather.
