In 2016, I had a very negative experience with Erika Bansmer. She was my ex-husband’s attorney during our divorce. After I sold my personal property, the proceeds check was taken by her. Instead of placing it in a required trust account, she held the money in her own personal account for over a year. I had to fight to get my money back, and during that time my children and I struggled with serious hardship. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend her. Recommend reading before making any decision. I was once a 5-star client, and the rating can go back to 4-5 stars depending on how this current situation is handled. First off: Mind you, I’m a “current” client (May 2024 through present, currently July-August 2025). This firm is helping me in California while I currently live in New York City.
