Worth every dollar! Lovely boat trip with a crew member, Jenn. giving history of the area, especially Newburgh. The island itself is magical with rock outcroppings and natural gardens, we got to meet a family member of the former owners, Mr Crawford...he told us stories of the home. There was a band, the Whispering Pines, a duo who serenaded us with acoustic versions of Pink Floyd, Bowie and more....I will look for the again in Beacon. A great ferry ride out of Beacon to Pollepel Island. Scored Dracula tix early in the year as they sell out fast. Tried for 3 years. Loved the show, they serve beverages & yum sandwiches plus the ruins & house are just wonderful history to see. When in the Hudson Valley, it's a must see.
I am obsessed with Castles, so living in the Hudson Valley I did a little research and came across the Bannerman Castle. I put it right on the Bucket List. I finally toured the beautiful Island and it was breathtaking and exactly what I had imagined and More.
