I needed a checking account and made it to this bank 2 hours before they were to close. Unfortunately, the three staff members of this Bank could not help me open a basic checking account even though I was the only customer. I made an appointment for the next day and came in at the designated time. Even though I had a valid California state driver's license and a large cash initial deposit, they were still unable to create a basic checking account for me. Nope! I moved to Ventura @ 5 months ago and needed a local bank for money orders, bill pay, transfers, etc. (We previously used TD bank, which is an East Coast jawn, I guess). Well, I've been repeatedly dissatisfied and disappointed with the Bank of the Sierra: They've had "computer problems/computer system down," and the ATM has been OOO too many times (imho) in the short few months since I opened my account here.
