I was able to cash the same type of check in kakaako. Went to this location, stood in line, and the teller told me she couldn't cash my check. I have an account too. I went back to kakaako and they cashed my check. They also wondered why they didn't cash my check.
The bank tellers work is unkind & unskilled...
My review is about Bank of Hawaii in general not this particular branch. My beef is they have all these “nickle and dime” fees so it seems like it costs me money to do anything with them. For example, the international ATM fee is $5 PLUS and 3% fee off the total you withdraw. Another example, if you write a check, they charge you $2.50 to give you a scanned image of your own check (which I didn’t even ask for). Paper statements are $3.25.
