First time here, busy Friday night. Definitely recommend reservations. Service was disjointed and inconsistent. Not because of the use of menu cards which the servers oddly did not check for. Being small plates, ordering, especially with a group, is done in waves. But still the servers were not attentive. The food was very good in style and execution. Drink menu is diverse and cocktails were very well made. The decor is stylish but the converted house makes for unique layout. I'd like to return to see how they fare on anothe... read more

Unfortunately not a great experience overall. My friend and I were really looking forward to a lively experience in the beautiful downtown Charlottesville area, just coming in for a girls trip. We were especially excited about the tapas menu and being able to experience lots of different eats. First, the aesthetic is truly “meh”. Small, not decorated well, if at all. They really missed the opportunity to make small space either eclectic and interesting, or warm, cozy, and inviting (or both!) Second, the food was just ok. The... read more

Holy smokes Bang! is amazing! Asian influenced tapas?! Who knew how brilliant that is! And they know how to pour a martini. Got 3 small items and 3 big, a little too much for 2 people, but had leftovers. Buns, edamame, sweet potatoes, spicy orange chicken and chicken spring rolls. All fantastic, absolutely no slackers. All for a surprisingly good price. Nice space in a house, open feeling. Good music at a perfect level (Magnetic Fields, Air, Dismemberment Plan, etc.). Can’t wait to return!

We had a very good experience at Bang! Server was experienced and very familiar with the menu, patient, and offered good recommendations. Our two issues were that she suggested 3 items/person and that was way too much food, and the food came almost all at once and not staggered. Drinks were great. Lots of variance on the menu. Menu offerings were very good and sizes were large. Our favorite items were the drunken noodles and the beef and broccoli. The second favorites were the ravioli and spring rolls. The firecracker shrimp... read more

Really fun spot for a night out with friends, tapas style makes it easy to try so many dishes on the menu. Lots of great flavor, although on a few it did feel like something was missing but couldn’t quite put my finger on it (orange chicken for example, but was still tasty regardless). Definitely attracts the college crowd so just be ready for some noise if you go on evenings or weekends— reservations recommended.
