At the Banff Canoe Club we believe everyone should have access to the wonderfully Canadian sport of canoeing! Our goal is to make canoeing an affordable activity so that visitors and residents alike can explore the water. We rent canoes, kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboards from the canoe docks on the Bow River. From the canoe docks, paddlers can explore a gentle stretch of the Bow River or follow forty mile creek into Vermillion Lakes. Highly recommend the kayak guided tours. Our guide Fergus was very helpful, knowledgeable, and so fun! Banff Canoe Club is lucky to have him. Absolutely one of our top highlights in Banff. Tour pace flexible, can accommodate to many different paces.
Did a guided tour with Fergus and he did an excellent job keeping us laughing and safe. Beautiful views of the mountains from the creek and lake we kayaked!
I had a great time and saw some wildlife on the river. My guide Claire was the GOAT. I don’t know what kind of elite-level canoe camp Claire trained at, but it shows. Not only did she safely guide us through the water with the grace of a swan, but she also spotted a Loon while telling a story about a Loon. Pretty sure she summoned it. She answered all our questions, cracked great jokes, and managed to make paddling feel like a peaceful dream sequence from a nature documentary.
