Re-usable Bags I went here on Tuesday 7-8-08. I brought my bags to re-use and not be charged the 2 cents per bag. I spent 81.04. I am there about 2-3 times a month, and spend about the same amount. On this day, I went to the register and the guy rang up my order, while I was getting my money out. I put my bags on the counter, as I was digging for cash. He just stood there and looked at me. good selection Banana Joe's has a great selection of produce, generally at reasonable prices. They also have a deli which has good quality and good selection. The only neg I have w/ them is that in order to use a credit card you must spend $15. PROS: good selection and quality CONS: have to spend $15 to use credit card

Here is my 2 cents. As a customer for many, many years I have always enjoyed the friendly service, fresh veggies and homey atmosphere of Banana Joe's. I don't however appreciate being charged $.02 for a plastic bag! Come on! I understand that we want the Earth to be a better place but it's more about how we treat each other.

Love it! I moved across town a year ago; before that I used to go to Banana Joe's all the time. Their prices are amazing; you can get a lot of fruits and vegetables for very little money. The quality of the produce is also great -- much better all around than the supermarket! So, after moving, I still consider it well worth the hike to get my produce there. And, to top it off, their deli stand is very good, and they have locally-made pies that are tasty!! Definitely go there if you get the chance.
