We have been insured by Equitable for over 40 years and my wife's parents for even longer. The money we have saved on monthly premiums is extraordinary. The only large payment was the original deposit. After that we have had many years with no payment at all. In some years, because of the increased cost of construction we have been asked to make a payment to cover those costs in case of a large loss such as the house being completely destroyed. Complete scam. They forced two elderly people who had no claims ever in more than 30 years (and whose initial deposit had been made years earlier) to pay more in deposits (20K+) because, as they said, interest rates remained low for so long and they were not making enough money (Obviously forgetting that they had made quite a bit through the 70's and 80's high interest rate times). Do not recommend at all!!!
