Thank you to Balmain Village Health for immediate attention to a medical issue I had been dismissive of - calm prompt management that is at the heart of the community care and keeping people out of hospital.
The doctor is okay but the receptionist is patronising and dismissive and made for an unpleasant experience. I was waiting for a pathologist and told there was no appointment, that we were to just wait until we were next up. I sat in reception with no one else waiting but then another person walked in and the pathologist happened to become available at the time Ans the receptionist went and got the other person to cut ahead of me. Was kept waiting for 1 hour 15 mins for a telehealth appointment to get an updated pathology request that the DOCTOR got wrong first time around. I had kept the time free to take the call and had to take EXTRA time off to wait for it. No one at the practice was proactive about keeping me in the loop (takes a 1 min to tell your staff you’re running late, and for a staff member to call the patient with an update). For a ~$100 appointment, both practice and doctor can do a LOT better.
