We've been vacationing at Emerald Isle for many, many years, and our vacation last September was rainy. It was so rainy one evening that all the restaurants were closed except Ballyhoo's. We had never eaten there before, so it was nice to try a new place. The service was a little slow, but I will not hold that against the servers because they were swamped. To our benefit our server gave us each two free Martinis to make up for the wait. I will eat there again.
Food was pretty bad, ordered a Grouper sandwich and got a grilled goldfish on a bun. Obviously wasn't grouper. Mentioned it to the waitress and she didn't really care. The guy next to me had mold on his sandwich. Basically paid about $22 for 2 beers and some chips.
We eat there every time we are in town and and we have never been dissatisfied, they have some great nightly specials and the staff has always been friendly, actually we are in town and are heading over there now for lunch. For sure the Best burgers in town and the seafood is always excellent.
Used to be good. Changed their portion size to way to small and more expensive
