I’ve bought quite a few “slabs” from Badger Logging. Ben knows his stuff. It’s awesome to get different species of wood out here. All we grow is pine, fir, and aspen. He has walnut, cedar, russian olive. The variety is great, and Ben is very knowledgeable and helpful. I built my 500 sq ft deck from milled Douglas fir that he did. I love my deck. Badger Custom Sawmill & Kiln is hands-down the best place I’ve ever sourced wood from. The variety of species available is incredible — beetle kill pine, aspen, mulberry, cedar and more. Ben’s selection of slabs is amazing, so much so that we keep going back to buy more! We purchased an aspen slab to use as our fireplace mantel. Ben cut it to the exact dimensions we needed. Ben is a great craftsman! My wife and I went to him for our mantle, and he had the piece we wanted and put a perfect finish on it. So when it came time for a window sill and top of our pony wall we went back. His shop has a great selection of different woods to choose from and he does exactly what we ask for. Every time we’ve been there it was busy, but we just looked at all his slabs and waited our turn and then Ben got us exactly what we were looking for.
Great place to buy kiln dried and flattened slabs and even some large “cookies”. Large inventory of various hardwoods and pine for tables, benches, etc. Best local place I’ve found for live edge wood. Prices are lower than in the Springs. Well worth the visit.
Great service, great selection. I got two huge live edge slabs of beetle kill ponderosa pine for benches in my living room. Very reasonable price and custom cut to my specs.
