Ended up taking a second course with andrew. Intro to hunting this time. Andrew's teaching gave me a clear idea of the steps that i needed to take to get started and that lifelong learning adventure. Also he showed us what scouting an area meant and the things to look for. All of it priceless knowledge to get in such a short amount of time. Cannot recommend it enough.

Some things in the Kootenays are too good to remain quiet about. Backwoods Bushcraft is one of them. This was my second course(Hunter's Intro) with Andrew and will likely not be the last. He is a wealth of knowledge and a fantastic teacher. I also greatly appreciate his ethical approach towards bushcraft and hunting. Would definitely recommend Backwoods Bushcraft to anyone - from the complete beginner who is unsure if this is the journey for them to the more experienced person looking to hone/expand their skills. Amazing experience. Andrew is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Cannot recommend it enough if you are interested in knowing more about the woods and about yourself.
