We did the Twilight Canoe trip with Backroads Whistler and it was a real highlight of our trip. Our guide Rach was fantastic — so caring with the kids, and patient enough to take our youngest in her own canoe for the whole trip. The wildlife was incredible — we saw beavers, and one swam right alongside our canoe, which the kids absolutely loved. Wowsers. The River was super gentle and easier for this novice kayaker to maneuver. And it is BEAUTIFUL too. Peaceful. We had perfect weather and a personal guide- Ollie was a terrific guide and we are grateful for Jack too - picking us up and shuttling us back to start. So cool to have TWO bear sightings too. So. So. good. Backroads took care of everything- the gear, the lesson, the convenience.

On Friday, July 24th, we rented two boats from Backroads. My older son and I took a kayak, while my wife, younger son, and father-in-law rented a pedal boat. We planned to be out for about an hour. Everything started out fine. After about an hour, my son and I were ready to head back, so we returned to land while the rest of my family stayed out on the pedal boat.
