We came up to Whistler midweek hoping it would be quieter and it was. We rented a canoe to paddle the River of Golden Dreams. We had to sign a waiver and then were given a safety presentation by one of the guides. Both the desk clerk and safety person were very friendly and nice. We were then given a paddling lesson on the different paddling strokes by another guide. Then we demonstrated on the canoe in the water before we allowed to paddle off. Another friendly guide. Our boat just flipped over and the current was so strong, we couldn’t even paddle properly to reach the shore. Management should have speed boats, to help immediately, we were in middle of the lake for almost 10-12 minutes in the water……and a local saw us and he reported to 911 and finally the management has arrived. The guy was super helpful no objection but they should have some speed boats or more staff who can also take observe the visitors who are out of vision from the main area…..

Susanna, Ryder and Spencer were all really helpful and knowledgable. We went for a Canoe ride along the river in October. It was great to have the option to rent a canoe as our paddle boards would not have been suitable due to the beaver dams at this time of year. Thanks!

It’s probably one of the best experiences I’ve experienced. Would highly recommend it, and if you see Mr. Ryder definitely say Hi, he is a genius, you maybe even get to see a trick.

Pricey for the equipment being rented out but the path is well-maintained. The shallow water levels made crossing the beaver dams more difficult.
