RecommendedPete found the right skis for me, and he explained "rocker length" and turning in a way nobody ever has before which really felt true to my figure skater ears. 😂 Everyone in the store is super helpful and friendly!

I went up to the counter to make a purchase today and no employee checked me out; they were both having conversations (which is fine). The problem that I had was that I made eye contact with one of the employees, and they looked away and went back to their conversations without acknowledging my presence (telling me they’d help me in a minute or asking me if I was ready to check out, etc.)
Expertise, no sales pressure, high quality gear!

One of the best things about Bellingham is having options like Backcountry Essentials. They offer ski tuning and waxing, have lots of outdoor gear to choose from and are located downtown with friendly staff and great service. Oh and did I mention they have a Ladies Night that’s rad too?
They made my life a better place.
Have shopped here since they opened. Last time we couldn't get any acknowledgement or help from staff. Place was empty too. Was interested in sleeping bags. Waited and waited...........then left. Spent $800 elsewhere.
