Super yummy!
We always search for our favorite apple fritter place and as much as I hate to say, we finally found somewhere that exceeds our local joint back home. The combination of large apple slices, crispy outside with soft inside, and apple to bread ratio is outstanding, and has remained consistent over the years. Every time we head to the family house the talk is of back door donuts for weeks beforehand, and a staple of every visit. ❤
Worst almond croissant I’ve ever had. Not flakey at all, just soggy and probably defrosted, and $6.00! I got amazing ones in Paris for under $3.00. I don’t mind paying for a good croissant but this was shameful.
If you’ve never had a real apple fritter, then by all means check them out. If you like places like Dunkin Donuts, then this is your spot. If you love tourists traps, then this is the place for you. As someone that has been to over 30 donut shops in the past two years, I would rate their famous fritter as the second worst fritter I’ve had. Texture is COMPLETELY off for a fritter. Backdoor Donuts was below average honestly, worse than ordinary. The honey glazed donut was disappointing, and the raspberry jelly lacked the flavor, freshness, and quality I expected. With all the hype surrounding this place, I expected something indulgent and memorable, but these donuts fell flat.
