Red Head Cove's Baccalieu View Walking Trail gives visitors an unforgettable experience as it wanders through an ever-changing landscape, with sites of rare orchids, natural ponds, meadows, and forest, opening up to stunning views of Baccalieu Island, unlike any other. Baccalieu Island has shown up on maps dating back to the 1500s and has the biggest population of Storm-petrels in the world as well as many other seabirds.

Get directionsThe trail out to the Baccalieu Interpretation Center was good. Starting to show its age in places, but a great hike. I was pleasantly surprised by the interpretation center which is perched on a point near the ocean. Great views of Baccalieu Island and the story boards inside the center were very informative. It's a great day trip from St. John's and well worth the visit.
This was a great afternoon out, and the views are absolutely stunning!
Beautiful hike out to the coast through several bogs. Lots of blueberries, saskatoon, and canadian dogwood.
Amazing place to enjoy the water and great trails. End the day with a fire by the water.
